Computer Tips1. Backup your important files regularly (or all files). Floppy disks, CD disks and computer hard drives go bad - eventually. It is well worth the money to invest in a zip drive, removable drive (flash / USB) etc. or a CD burner that will facilitate backups. There are software packages that will back up your files on a schedule determined by you. 2. Install and update regularly anti-virus software. "An ounce of prevention is well worth a pound of cure". A nasty virus can make your entire computer inaccessible. It is crucial that you update your anti-virus software at the minimum monthly. New viruses come out everyday and it is well worth your time to update your software weekly. Most anti-virus software companies make updates available weekly or soon after a virus outbreak. 3. Always seek opportunities to expand and increase your knowledge. The more wisdom and knowledge you can apply to your life, the easier it will be to cut through the challenges of life. 4. Hoaxes: Think twice before responding to or forwarding emails with unusual claims. Take a moment to search the internet first using keywords in the email message. |
